Gridforged is a co-op auto-battler. Each player owns one runic board. Project runes across rows and columns to compose builds that stack, freeze, burn, and revive. Survive 10 rounds of named bosses — and a PvP-ghost nemesis fight every round.

Each tribe has its own keyword cluster, signature units, and tribe-gated runes. Mix tribes for flexibility, or commit for spike power.

The Forge
Runes don't sit on units. They project across the board.
Runes live on two dedicated tracks flanking your play grid — the row track on the right casts across whole rows, the column track below casts across whole columns. A unit in the cross-fire of both catches everything.
The skill is the trade-off. You can fill the board with bodies and dust them all in one rune, or shrink the roster to a single carrier and stack four runes on top of it. More units & more runes wins on volume; fewer units in a tight cross-section wins on per-unit synergy. Cycle the loadouts below to feel both extremes.
Hover any rune to light up the lanes it covers and the units it touches. Each unit's badge strip shows the rune families currently projecting onto it.

Forge by matching
Pull two same-base, same-tier runes onto the same track and the game forges the next tier in their place. Tiers go T1 → T4.

Generic + tribe-gated
Most rune families are generic. Some only fire for a specific tribe — Bloodscent only triggers Beasts; Mechanized only powers Mechs.

Keyword carriers
Inferno carries Burn, Toxicity carries Envenom, Bastion carries Shield. Stack a rune family to scale every keyword tick.

The Encounters
Authored bosses. Twisted boards.
Every round of Standard mode is a boss round. The party votes the path, the boss brings its own minion, stage, and rules. Survive the chain to round 10.

Shop → Vote → Boss → Reward → Nemesis.
Five phases per round, ten rounds per match. Co-op for 1–4 players. Solo it for the puzzle, run it with friends and let rescue waves carry the team.

Spend gold. Buy units and runes. Place them on your board, ready up.

Party picks the boss path together. Skip what your build can't stand.

Authored encounter, parallel per-player sims, rescue waves for fallen teammates.

Boss wins open the reward picker — sometimes an exclusive tribe or keyword shop.
