Haywire applied during the activation it would punish

- Question
- A Supercharge ally applies Haywire while a unit is activating. Does that Haywire fire immediately?
- Answer
- No. Only Haywire that existed when the activation began may resolve.
- 900.17aThe Haywire count is captured before the activation starts and compared against the count afterwards. A stack that arrived in between is not eligible.
- 900.17bThis matters because Supercharge resolves in the activation-followup step, at almost exactly the moment Haywire would otherwise fire. Without the capture, a Supercharge Haywire would Stun its own ally instantly.
- 900.17cThe unit still must have at least one Haywire stack remaining at resolution time. Removing the last stack fires the on-Haywire-emptied trigger before the Stun is applied.
- 900.17dHaywire resolves before adjacent Supercharge passives in the followup order, which is why the capture is needed at all.
