Why one Hub is stronger in round 1
This rule is part of the Comprehensive Rules, where every cross-reference resolves in one page.
- Question
- My Hub gave my single Penny more stats in round 1 than it does now. Did something change?
- Answer
- Yes. The strongest Hub carries an early scarcity supplement in rounds 1 and 2 while it is supporting fewer than three Pennies.
- 900.37aEvery Hub grants allied Pennies Vitality, Power, Speed, and Armor at battle start, scaled to the Hub's tier. Several Hubs stack at 100%, 50%, 25%, then 10% in descending tier order.
- 900.37bOn top of that, during match rounds 1 and 2 only, the Hub in the 100% slot adds a supplement of 5% per missing Penny below three, multiplied by the number of early rounds remaining including the current one.
- 900.37cThat works out to 20% with one Penny in round 1, 10% with two Pennies in round 1 or one Penny in round 2, and 5% with two Pennies in round 2.
- 900.37dThe supplement exists so an opening board with a Hub and a lone Penny is not dead weight before you have the Pennies to spend the bonus on. It is deliberately temporary.
- 900.37eIt never applies to the 50%, 25%, or 10% Hubs, and it stops entirely once the round counter reaches 3 or once three allied Pennies are on the board — whichever happens first.
- 900.37fThe supplement rounds to the nearest whole point rather than up, so the smallest round-2 case stays close to what the card authored.
